Dr. Rudolf Maas stud­ied eco­nom­ics and busi­ness at the Ruhr-Uni­ver­si­ty Bochum, before gain­ing his doc­tor­ate at the Vien­na Uni­ver­si­ty of Eco­nom­ics and Busi­ness. Fol­low­ing an invest­ment con­trol­ling role at Klöck­n­er + Co. KGaA, Duis­burg, he moved to Deloitte & Touche in Düs­sel­dorf.
In Jan­u­ary of 1998 he acquired the Bochum-based tax con­sul­tan­cy W. Dick­mann, which was sub­se­quent­ly trans­formed into the part­ner­ship that is maas-pöller-sieglen. His focal areas include the prepa­ra­tion and audit­ing of annu­al finan­cial state­ments, tax con­sul­tan­cy and the val­u­a­tion of enter­pris­es as well as under­tak­ings in crisis.
